Scrum has Revolutionized The Way The Software Development is Done in Large Companies

Scrum methodologies

Sharing is caring!

The complex world of medical logistics, can benefit from the methodologies created to deliver software.

The Scrum, process has been use by companies, because it is a strategy to implement and increment the agile project management culture.

In the early 1990s, scrum was developed in the information technology sector, to respond to the failures of the traditional project managements, techniques put in place by many companies.

Scrum is supposed to help companies, see the problems a project may face in the future, avoid them and fix current project issues.

Scrum borrows many techniques and principles, from the lean manufacturing philosophy and it is part of the agile methodology.

An organization that uses the Scrum, is provided with concrete tactics, which are critical for the successful development of a software.

Speculation is not emphasize in scrum, for decision making, instead real-world results are used, to achieve the best performance.

Scrums brings simple set of roles, responsibility and meetings, to the software development process of any company that uses scrum.

During a scrum meeting, teams would maintain a list of items, which are addressed at a future time

The list would include every request from the client, changes requested on past meetings and all the items that are not priority, but should be addressed at a later time.

The list of items, which are kept by teams in scrum meetings, is also known as a backlog, and this backlog of items.

The backlog have to be condensed and refined, because initially the backlog is too large and poorly understood.

The backlog requirement is a required activity, because it is an essential part to the groundwork, of the development of the software.

The backlog helps teams, keep items ranked based on priority, and on feedback from the stakeholders

In order to make sure that priorities have not changed, the backlog is revisited constantly and it is also visible to all stakeholder.

Stakeholders also have the ability to add items to the list, and comment on items that are on the list, so that development teams are aware of the requirements.

The work cadence in scrum is also different, because time in scrum is divided, into short work bursts, known as sprints.

The sprints would typically last at least one or two weeks longs; at the end of the sprints, the teams regroup in order to assess the updated, shippable product increment and talk about the next steps, in the development of the products.

The change requests and the feedback that come out of the meetings are then added, to the list of items, in order to be digested and prioritized later.

The scrums happen only when there is a scrum team, this team consists of a product owner, the development team and a scrum master

Self-organization and cross-functionality are features of the scrum team, because they choose how best to accomplish their work.

Scrum teams are not directed by others, outside of the team, because they all work together in harmony.

Scrum teams also have all competencies needed in order to accomplish their work, and they don’t have to depend on others who are not part of their team.

Flexibility, creativity and productivity are the main reasons why the team model in scrum was designed.

Opportunity for feedback is also optimize because scrum teams deliver products, iteratively and incrementally.
