The technology we are enjoying today; is here to stay and we should look at the fundamental changes that technology brings to our society.
In today’s article, we are going to talk about, behavior prediction technologies
If people are okay with being spied on by the government; all day long, for the sake of safety, then we might be in for a rude awakening.
The government believes that by using a new framework; developed by researchers at Binghamton University of New York and State University of New York; they could one day be able, to understand future terrorist behaviors, by recognizing patterns in past attacks.
The Government cannot always; uncover the intentions of terrorists, using social media and telecommunications, because terrorists are carefully utilizing these technologies; in order to prepare for attacks.
The name of this technology is: the Networked Pattern Recognition (NEPAR) Framework
This technology, would help define useful patterns of attacks, to understand behaviors, to predict terrorists’ future moves; and to prevent and detect potential terrorist behaviors and analyze patterns, which are connected to terrorist activities.
Big data sets are also playing a key role, in forecasting trends or in predicting customer behaviors
Both computers and humans are being used; in order to collect all this data, which is usually valuable to big companies; who want to sell something.
Computers comb through large sets of data; though humans set up advanced algorithms, parameters, results are analyzed .
We are of course working on a technology, which could take the human factor, all together, away from the technology
In order to improve the customer experience; and to plan for the future of the company, many companies in the finance, insurance, retail, tourism, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and utility companies, rely on the predictive behavior technology.
There are many beneficial uses for the predictive behavior technology of course, because the strategies of a range of businesses; multiple forms of the technology have enhanced it ; forms such as predictive modeling, decision analysis and optimization as well as transaction profiling and predictive search; are all good tools for major companies to advertise.
As a result the benefits of predictive behavior technology; research in advertising has been producing better advertising strategies; to gain more profits, which is the bottom line of any company.
Manager and executives, can now make better decisions; which can influence up-selling; sales and revenue forecasting
The predictive behavior technology, has some draw backs though, which can hold companies back; because even with sufficient data, computer algorithms, fail to consider too many variables, in consumers.
The changing weather, the moods, relationships, time and other things, can influence customer-purchasing patterns.
The biggest concern with the predictive behavior technology; is that the privacy of many people; is not so private any more
Many people are aware that there personal information, can be sold, for the sole purpose of company productivity
Companies are violating privacy rights, when information is exposed, for the purpose of marketing. and many people usually sue these companies; because their privacy is constantly being violated.
People just don’t trust these companies, with their personal information, this is why the predictive behavior technology; raises concerns among the public.
People worry that these companies, may one day have enough power to manipulate people, into doing whatever they want.
