Computers can be used to do all sorts of things, it just depends on what it is that you, the programmer want to do.
In today’s article, we will be talking about the Python programming language
In order to be able to develop anything, in a computer though, you must first learn a computer programming language.
If you are a new programmer, you’re your peer, family and friends would expect, you to be able to completely master a computer language, in ten or more years.
You won’t be a strong, computer developer, until you are able to utilize, computer programming, in a way that you know, you have mastered, that computer language and use your mastery, to solve problems, around the world.
Many programmers use, to develop really cool computer applications.
As a high-level, programming language
Python has many advantages, because it is much easier to develop computer programs and application, with such a high level language.
Some other high level programming language, which exist today, are C, C++, Perl and Java; as an experienced developer, I can tell you that, you will not be able to easily develop a computer program, with any of the programming languages, I just mentioned.
You will however; be able to develop application programs, easily with the Python, programming language.
You will also, hear programmers talk about, low level languages, which is also known as machine code, or assembly languages.
Low level languages, are easy to use; however, these types of programming languages, are not utilized as often.
Python is interpreted
It is an object-oriented scripting language, and it is a high-level language.
Developers, who use Python, use it, because it is highly readable; which means that, this programming language, frequently uses English keywords.
In contrast to other, programming languages, which use punctuation, Python uses English keywords, in order to be more readable, to developers.
In contrast to other languages, Python also has less syntactical constructions.
The fact that Python is interpreted, simply means that, Python is processed at runtime, by the interpreter.
Which means that you do not need, to compile, your program, before you can execute it.
Other languages, which are similar to Python, in this aspect, are PELR and PHP
Python allows developers, to actually sit at a Python prompt and interact, with the interpreter, directly to write your programs, which makes Python interactive.
The fact that Python is Object-Oriented, means that Python is able to support, Object-Oriented style or technique of programming, which uses encapsulation for code within objects.
Python is also great, for anyone who doesn’t know a programming language, and would like to learn a programming language.
Beginner-level programmers, can use Python to be introduce to a programming language.
Python supports, the development of a wide range of applications, from simple text processing, to WWW browsers, to games.
Python is also extendable, which means that, you can add low-level modules to the Python interpreter.
The low level modules
These modules, allow programmers and developers, to add or customize their tools, to be more efficient.
Python also provides interfaces, to all of the major commercial databases, which exist today.
GUI applications, which can be created and ported to many system calls, libraries and windows systems, such as Windows MFC, Macintosh, and The Unix system.
Python also provides a better structure and support for large programs, better then shell scripting.
Python is a great programming language, but let’s look into the past, at the history of Python, to understand, how it all began.
Guido van Rossum developed Python, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, at the National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science in Netherlands.
ABC, Modula3, C, C++, Algol-68, Smalltalk, Unix Shell and other scripting languages, contributed to the development of Python.
Python is free too, it is under the GNU, which is the General Public License (GPL)
Today Python is maintained by a core development team, which is located at the same institute, where it was developed.
Guido van Rossum, still holds a vital role, in its development, and is directing the progress of the Python programming language, to make sure that Python has a brighter future, in the world of technology.
